Disney Beach Club Review: The Honest Truth About Disney’s Most Iconic Pool

Hey Dreamers! You’ve heard whispers, scrolled through photos, maybe even seen viral videos. Everyone raves about the Disney Beach Club pool. You’ve read a review or two, but is it really as awesome as they say?

Disney Beach Club Review: Everything to Know About the Stormalong Bay Pool

The first thing you notice? The size. Stormalong Bay, the resort’s main pool, spans 3 acres. That’s righ, three acres of pure fun. With nearly 800,000 gallons of water, this Disney Beach Club resort pool is one of the largest and most versatile at Walt Disney World.

Float along the lazy river, relax in one of the huge whirlpools, or sip a cold drink while a cast member takes your order. Thrill seekers, brace yourselves: the 230-foot shipwreck waterslide, one of the tallest hotel slides at Disney World, is pure adrenaline heaven.

Disney Beach Club Review: Entrance to the Shipwreck Pool

For the littlest swimmers, the Disney Beach Club Pool includes a mini Shipwreck Pool, a shallow, beach-style area where kids can dig in the sand and splash for hours and we’d not kidding.

We’ve even gotten my fair share of ‘mermaid tail’ moments as my legs have often been buried to create their very own mermaid tails!

Note, both Beach Club and Yacht Club guests share access, and lifeguards scan your park app to give wristbands for entry. Pro tip: bring sunscreen, those July and August sunbeams are no joke!

Need a break from the main pool chaos? The Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts have three quiet leisure pools tucked into serene garden areas:

  • Tidal Pool (Beach Club) – 43,000 gallons with Crescent Lake views
  • Admiral Pool (Yacht Club) – 54,000 gallons, secluded and peaceful
  • Dunes Cove Pool (Beach Club Villas) – 55,350 gallons, open to all resort guests

Each pool also features steaming whirlpools, giving you options from peaceful laps to hours of splash-filled fun. Whether you want quiet relaxation or active poolside play, there’s a spot for every mood. The Dunes Cove Pool at the Beach Club Villas is our favorite to get the quiet moment we sometimes need!

Tips to Maximize Your Disney Beach Club Pool Day

  • Grab your chair early! Summer is busy, and prime spots go fast.
  • Snack attack: Poolside chicken fingers, burgers, or a cold drink from a Disney Cast Member walking around while taking your order to keep everyone fueled.
  • Fireworks magic: Swim while EPCOT’s 9 PM fireworks light up the sky, pool usually open until 10 PM (always double-check hours before you go).
  • Shower & refresh: Full bathrooms and showers let you hop back into the parks without running to your room.
  • Plan ahead: WARNING! The pool closes for refurbishments several months a year (Disney will let you know when booking), and weather may temporarily shut it down.

Whether floating the lazy river, playing volleyball, or letting little ones dig in the sand, the Disney Beach Club pool has something for everyone.

So, if you love hours of swimming, poolside relaxation, and easy park access, the Disney Beach Club pool alone makes the higher price tag worth it, and if you’ve read any Disney Beach Club review, you’ll know why guests keep coming back. Here are a few more reasons you may fall in love with the Beach Club Pool yourself:

  • EPCOT International Gateway makes for easy access to EPCOT World Showcase (not to mention, this is amazing during the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival).
  • Easy access to the Skyliners headed to Hollywood Studios is a huge perk too — just not when it closes due to rain!
  • It’s perfect for families who aren’t park-all-day warriors and want a relaxing, fun break in between attractions.

All this said, on our Disney trips, you’ll usually find us floating in the lazy river, grabbing bites and drinks at EPCOT, or hopping on the Skyliners to Hollywood Studios for a ride or two. Bottom line: if you love Disney pools, pirate slides, sand play for kids, lazy rivers, and unforgettable poolside memories, the Beach Club pool is a must-do Disney experience, and our Disney Beach Club review proves it.

Disney Beach Club Resort Map

Wondering how to make the most of your day at Stormalong Bay? The Disney Beach Club resort map is your secret weapon. From locating all of the Disney Beach Club Pool areas (the lazy river, whirlpools, and Shipwreck Pool) to finding the quiet leisure pools, dining spots, and walking paths to EPCOT’s International Gateway, the map keeps you from wandering in circles (or missing the fireworks!).

Bonus: it also shows entrances, restrooms, and Skyliner access, so you can plan your perfect pool-to-park adventure without breaking a sweat. Keep a copy handy on your phone or grab one at the front desk, the Disney Beach Club resort map is an essential tool for maximizing fun at the Disney Beach Club pool.

So, Is Disney’s Beach Club Pool Worth the Money?

Yes, yes and yes! But the high cost is not just because of the pool. Disney’s Beach Club Resort comes with a premium price tag because you’re paying for one of the best locations at Walt Disney World.

You can walk into EPCOT through the International Gateway entrance in just minutes, hop on the Disney Skyliner for a quick ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, stroll over to the restaurants and entertainment at Disney’s BoardWalk, or catch a relaxing Friendship Boat to nearby destinations.

Then there’s Stormalong Bay itself, which is one of the most impressive resort pools anywhere. With its lazy river, sand bottom pool, waterslide, and countless places to explore, it’s more than a pool. It’s a vacation destination all on its own. In fact, we always set aside at least one full day, and sometimes two, just to enjoy it.

The only real downside is that lounge chairs fill up quickly, especially on busy days, so arriving early is your best bet. Other than that, Stormalong Bay is beautiful, relaxing, and packed with things to do. It’s one of those rare places that our family looks forward to all year, and every visit reminds us why it’s worth coming back.

We are travel planners too, and we love helping people understand the honest ins and outs of Disney vacations without the overly polished influencer version of everything.

Because honestly? Not every viral restaurant is worth your money. Not every “must do” ride deserves a two hour wait. And not every Disney strategy works for every family.

For example, we are not there to sell you tickets to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party until we know it’s right for you as it can be a waste of money if we just sell you tickets to “sell”.

That is why we focus so heavily on realistic advice, honest food reviews, real crowd expectations, practical park strategies, and helping people actually enjoy their vacation instead of stressing through it.

Ok Dreamers, whether you are planning your first Disney trip, trying to understand Lightning Lane, figuring out the best festival dates, or just wondering which restaurants are genuinely worth the hype, we are always here to help!

Disney has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s more than a vacation destination to me, it’s a place filled with stories, memories, and experiences that continue to inspire me every time I visit. I love helping families discover that same, whether it’s their first trip or their fiftieth.

My Disney experience goes far beyond being a fan. I spent more than 10 years as a Cast Member, beginning at Space Mountain through the Disney College Program before moving into Disney College Recruiting and Disney marketing roles. I’m also a Disney Vacation Club Member of more than 30 years, an Annual Passholder, and a frequent visitor to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. I follow the latest Disney news, merchandise, and park updates closely, but I also believe the best Disney vacations aren’t about constantly checking an app or rushing to the next attraction.

Not to mention, I am also a bit of a Disney historian myself.
