Hey Dreamers! Planning a Disney vacation has never been easier, right? With just a few clicks, anyone can book a resort, purchase tickets, make dining reservations, and start building a vacation from home. There is more Disney information available online today than ever before, which is an incredible resource for families Disney trip planning. Or is it?
And somehow, Disney trip planning has never been more overwhelming. The challenge is no longer finding information….

The challenge is knowing which information actually applies to your family. When you search for Disney vacation planning tips on social media, you will get a ton of information, and we mean a ton.
Thousands upon thousands of Disney influencers, travel planners, enthusiasts, and sponsored posts are all competing for your attention.
Everyone has an opinion.
One person says you need to do something, while another tells you to skip it entirely.
And after a while, it becomes difficult to know who to trust.
Spend a few minutes scrolling through Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, and you will quickly find endless opinions about what you should do on your vacation. One person says Park Hopper is essential, while another says it is unnecessary. One family swears by a Deluxe Resort, while another says they would rather spend that money somewhere else.
During the fall, your feed fills with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tips, must try snacks, and strategies for making the most of the night. Then during the winter, all you will see is Mickey’s Verry Merry Christmas Party.
And I love these events (mostly). I really do. But before someone tells you where to watch the parade or which treats to try, there is a more important question to answer first: Is this the right experience for your family?
Because the truth is, the person creating that video does not know your family. They do not know if your toddler naps every afternoon. They do not know if your kids are exhausted by 9 p.m. They do not know if this is your first Disney trip, a once in a lifetime vacation, or something you do every few years.
They might be receiving commission on your ticket though so keep in mind that a “sale” to someome may or may not be the best fit for you.
They are sharing information. But information is not the same thing as knowing what is right for your family first. So do yourself the favor, do not buy the ticket until you have someone there to help you first determine if the event is really worth it for your family first. For example, for a family with 2 adults and 3 kids ages 3-9, plus an infant, the cost is over $800 plus tax. Then your kiddos are suddenly sleepy and you have to leave the event 2 hours early or push around a double stroller with sleeping kiddos.
SO…. please do not allow anyone to say you should get tickets to any Disney event unless they get to know your needs first because throwing $800 down the drain is not on anyone’s to do list. Because I will tell you now that if I find our your kiddos are 2, 3, 5, and 6, you might want to skip! More on that later.
Most of that advice is missing one important piece. Your family. Plus this applies to everything Disney.

Disney Trip Planning Is About Finding What Fits Your Family
One of the easiest mistakes to make when planning Disney is assuming there is one perfect way to do it. There is not. The perfect Disney vacation guide looks different for every family.
Some families want to wake up early, be at the parks before opening, and experience as much as possible. Some families want slower mornings, time at the resort pool, and a little more flexibility. Some families are focused on attractions. Others are excited about dining, characters, and all the little details that make Disney special.
None of those choices are wrong. The best vacation is the one that fits the people going. For example, rope drop is not for my family as 25k steps the day prior means we are sleeping until 8am.
That may sound simple, but it is easy to forget when you are surrounded by thousands of opinions telling you what you “have” to do. You are not planning someone else’s Disney vacation. You are planning yours.
And that means the first step is understanding what matters most to your family.

The Questions I Ask Before Recommending Anything
When someone reaches out to me about planning a Disney vacation, I do not want to immediately start listing resorts, restaurants, or experiences. The first thing I want to do is learn about them (YOU and your family). Because your vacation is not just a collection of reservations and special event tickets that you hear are “selling out fast”. .
It is a collection of moments you hope to create together. Before I recommend anything, these are some of the questions I want to understand.
Who is traveling with you?
Are you traveling with toddlers? Teenagers? Grandparents? A multigenerational group? The answer changes everything….
A family with young children may need more breaks, easier transportation, and a different pace. A family with older kids may want more time in the parks and more flexibility for late nights and rope drops.
Best example I have…. you see beautiful videos of the savannah at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Looks stunning, right! It really is. BUT will you have little ones in strollers, it dramatically changes the experience. The Disney busses is your only form of Disney transportation at Animal Kingdom Lodge. And breaking down a single or double stroller that is freshly packed for the day is not ideal by any means. And I mean breaking it down each time you board a Disney bus.
The “best” Disney resort, restaurant, or ticket option depends on who is actually coming along.

What does your family enjoy?
This is one of my favorite questions because every family has a different answer. Some families want to experience every attraction they can. Some families are excited about character meals. Some families love Disney history, hidden details, and taking time to appreciate the storytelling around the parks. And some have no idea.
Others simply want to slow down and enjoy being together somewhere special. Before I recommend something, I want to know what your family naturally enjoys.
Because the goal is not to create the vacation someone else would love. The goal is to have someone by your side creating the vacation your family will love.
What does your perfect Disney day look like?
If you came home and said, “That was the perfect trip,” what happened?
- Did your child meet their favorite character? Or perhaps you did?
- Did you experience an attraction you have been waiting years to ride?
- Did you have a meal together that became part of your family story?
- Did you find time to slow down and enjoy the details?
Those answers help shape everything else.

What are you worried about?
This question is just as important as asking what you are excited about.
- Maybe you are worried about crowds.
- Maybe you are concerned about spending too much money.
- Maybe you are overwhelmed because there are so many choices.
- Maybe you are worried about planning too much and exhausting everyone.
- Or maybe you are worried about the Florida heat? Or maybe not because if I could pay $1 per every post over the summer with “how to survive the Florida heat” this summer, I would be a millionaire. And quite honestly, the answer is simple, simply get indoors.
Those concerns matter. A great Disney vacation is not just about adding the things you want. It is also about avoiding the things that could make the trip harder.
What pace works best for your family?
This is a big one. Some families love the idea of maximizing every minute. They enjoy early mornings, full park days, and checking off their must do experiences.
Other families need a slower rhythm. They want breaks, flexibility, and time to enjoy the resort.
Both can create amazing Disney memories. The important thing is knowing which style fits your family before you arrive.
Sometimes the Best Disney Advice Is Knowing What Not to Add
One of the reasons I love Disney trip planning is that there are so many incredible experiences available. But having a lot of choices does not mean every choice is right for every family.
That is especially true with special events. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a perfect example.
The event is fantastic. The atmosphere is unlike anything else. The entertainment, costumes, characters, decorations, and Halloween details make it a very memorable experience.
But before I tell someone how to make the most of the party, I want to know if the party makes sense for them first.
Imagine a family with two children under the age of three. They have spent the day at Magic Kingdom. Everyone is excited, but everyone is also tired. The kids normally go to bed around 9 p.m. Is a late night event the best use of their money? Maybe. Maybe not.
That does not mean the event is not wonderful. It simply means the recommendation has to match the family.
Yes, there are strategies for attending. Yes, guests can enter earlier in the evening. Yes, there are ways to maximize the night. But the bigger question comes first: Will this create the kind of memory this family wants? That is the question I believe should come before every purchase.

Information Is Everywhere. Confidence Is Rare.
One of the amazing things about planning a Disney vacation today is that families have access to so much information.
- You can research almost anything.
- You can compare resorts.
- You can watch ride videos. My personal favorite but huge spoiler alerts!
- You can find restaurant reviews. And believe me, these are subjective.
You can read thousands of Disney planning tips. And they all start to look the same… here are the five foods you have to try at Magic Kingdom, these are the must dos at Hollywood Studios, this is the Lightning Lane strategy you need for Animal Kingdom, this is the resort you should book, and the list goes on and on.
But sometimes more information creates more questions. You start wondering if you made the right choice. Did we pick the right resort? Should we have bought that upgrade? Are we spending money on something we will not use?
That is where I believe a an experienced Disney travel planner who really cares can truly help. Not because you cannot find information. You absolutely can. And in the masses as everyone has an opinion and post about it daily. The value comes from helping you understand what that information means for your specific family.
It is having someone say, “Based on what you told me, here is what I would consider.”
It is having someone help you sort through the options and feel confident before you spend thousands of dollars.
Why I Am Proud to Work With Magic Mornings Vacations
This approach is one of the reasons I am so proud to be part of Magic Mornings Vacations. When I chose to work with this team (and I went though many large and small travel companies), what stood out to me was their focus on people first. Plus the team absolutely incredible!
Led by Nikki, Magic Mornings Vacations has built a wonderful group of high-quality, super passionate Disney travel advisors who genuinely care about helping families create vacations that fit their needs. And I do not say this lightly.
Their philosophy matters to me. A Disney vacation is not just a reservation. It is time together as a family. It is memories being created. It is an experience many families save for and look forward to for years.
The best planning does not start with asking what can be added. It starts with asking what makes sense. That is the kind of planning experience myself and Magic Mornings Vacations want families to have.

Your Disney Vacation Should Feel Like Yours
There is no shortage of Disney advice online. But there is only one family like yours.
Your perfect Disney vacation may look completely different from the one you see in someone else’s highlight reel, and that is okay.
You do not have to do everything. You do not have to follow every recommendation. You do not have to create someone else’s version of the perfect trip.
You just need to create the trip that feels right for your family.
The best Disney memories are not always created by doing the most. They are created by doing what matters most. Great Disney trip planning does not start with a list of things you should buy. It starts with understanding.
Before you spend thousands of dollars on your Disney vacation, let’s figure out what makes sense for your family.
Free Disney Planning Resources to Help You Feel Confident
Planning a Disney vacation comes with a lot of questions, and as your Disney planning guide, my goal is to make finding the right answers easier. We have resources to help your family prepare, including my Walt Disney World Baby Care Guide, Disney Rider Switch Guides for Walt Disney World and Disneyland, Walt Disney World Resort Guide, Disneyland Lightning Lane Guidebook, Walt Disney World Lightning Lane Guidebook, Aulani Guide, Disney Cruise Line resources, and many more. These Disney trip planning guides are designed to help you feel more prepared before your trip, but the greatest value comes from having someone who understands your family, your travel style, and what you truly want from your vacation. When we work together, my goal is not just to help you plan one trip. I want to be your ongoing Disney resource for years to come, whether you are planning your first visit, your next adventure, or exploring a completely different Disney destination.

I’m Here to Help You Create the Right Disney Vacation
Yes, I am a complimentary Disney travel planner, just like the many others you may find online. But the reason I do this is about much more than making a reservation.
I am not here to convince you to buy every ticket, upgrade, or experience available. I am here to help you figure out what actually makes sense for your family.
Before you purchase Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, let’s talk about whether it truly fits your family.
Before you add Park Hopper, let’s talk about your plans, your pace, and whether moving between parks will make your vacation better or simply add more logistics.
Before you choose a resort because you keep seeing it everywhere online, let’s talk about YOU and YOUR FAMILY first. That is the part of planning I love most.
My Disney vacation planning journey began more than 20 years ago at The Disney Store, where I helped families with their Disney Trip planning. I quickly learned that the best conversations were never just about selling a ticket. They were about listening, answering questions, and helping someone feel confident about a dream they had been looking forward to for years.
That passion led me to work with Disney Destinations in Celebration, Florida, where I supported Disney resort sales by visiting Disney resorts and Good Neighbor Hotels, learning their offerings firsthand, and helping ensure families had the right information when planning their vacations.
I have personally stayed at every Disney resort on property (and not to mention, most of the room types), know the Disney World Good Neighbor Hotels in and out, explored Disneyland extensively, experienced Disney Cruise Line (and the ships) more times than are on my fingers and toes, visited and LOVED Aulani, and continue to follow the details that make Disney destinations special.
But my favorite part has never been the reservations. It has always been the people. YOU and your family. But don’t forget, I do get up early to book your reservations!
And if you need more from me, I can be at your beck and call…. quite literally. For just a small daily free, I am a text and phone call away handling everything for you, checking in on you, reminding you where to be, calling if a change needs to happen, telling you when a storm will hit, making Lightening Lane switches, and calling Disney is something comes up. I will be your blue umbrella!
I love learning about a family, understanding what they are hoping to experience, and helping them find the destination that fits them best. Sometimes that is Walt Disney World. Sometimes it is Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, or another destination entirely.
When we work together, our conversations are about you. Your family. Your travel style. Your priorities. Your questions. The Disney vacation you see online may be perfect for someone else. But it may not be perfect for you.
Those viral tips, trending experiences, and popular recommendations can be wonderful or or just information that best pertains to the creator. So before you watch countless videos, spend thousands of dollars on your vacation, let’s make sure those choices are the right choices for your family.
Because the best Disney vacation is not the one everyone else is talking about. It is the one that feels like it was created just for you.
